• No new materials have been uploaded today. Instead, I am reminding you of how to find the past real Part 1 & Parts 2/3 questions. I will no longer be updating these real questions due to my health concerns.

For Parts 2 & 3, on the drop-down menu, go to "Parts 2/3". Then go to "Parts 2 & 3 Start Page". On that page the Part 2 start page and the Part 3 start page are on separate pages.

For Part 1, on the drop-down menu, go to "Part1". Then go to "Part1 Start Page".

• I noticed something that I had carelessly written in the first paragraph of the third bullet-point on the page, get_band_9_books.htm. That paragraph is now rewritten as –

"However, as I explained in the EVERYONE group of IELTS-Chris, I disagree with the authors on their advice about not telling stories about your personal history, friends or family. The authors write: “The Task tells you to use ‘examples from your own experience’, ". But this does not mean describing stories from your life or people you know! It means giving a short example from your personal, unique experience in one or two sentences. Yes, it can also be interpreted as meaning, "give examples of things in the world that you know about, have studied or have learned about in the media" because these are unique to your experience, too.  But everyone has those experiences in a similar way, so they are not strongly unique to you."

• An extra two topics, Topic 32 Public Transport & Topic 33 Borrowing were added to the page, Part_1_Questions_MAY_to_SEP_2020.htm. Both of those were new topics in September 2019 and, according to the usual pattern, they would have been used for two test periods plus one month, i.e., until the END of May 2020, and then retired. However, apparently those two topics have been reported by many candidates as being in use in June and July, 2020. So I have added them to my Part 1 list for May to September, 2020.

• Several changes were made to the current Part 1 question page, Part_1_Questions_SEP_to_DEC_2019.htm.

1) The topics of The Countryside, Patience and Holidays were added. "Holidays" now is broader than it was in Jan-Sep, 2019, when it was treated as "Public Holidays".

2) An extra question or two was added the the following topics - Work, Study, Living Area, Haircuts & Jeans.

3) The order of the topics (the topic number) was changed for some topics.

4) The dates of first usage were added to the topics.

5) The total number of topics seems to have been changed from the previous approx. 28 to approx. 35. There might be an error somewhere here.
