"Sit together" has the idea of a boy sitting next to a girl, for example, sharing a two-student desk.
The question might actually be this - Do you think boys and girls should be educated together (especially in high school)?
That question is referring to "co-educational" schools (= mixed gender schools) and "single sex schools" or "single gender schools" , also called "an all-boys school "or "an all-girls school".
