I have made no significant changes to the website since October 22 except that I have updated the information about the free group classes that I will be running on Wechat from October 29 to November 17. See Free_group_classes.htm

So far, all the students who have enrolled in those free online classes are Chinese. But the lessons will be completely in English so any of you non-Chinese readers of this website are welcome to join! I know quite a few of the readers of this website are from Vietnam, India and Korea and other places in Asia. The time zones for Beijing are close to your time zones so it should be convenient for some of you to join.

As of now (October 25), there are 13 places left in the class groups. Right now Group A has 2 vacancies, Group B has 3 vacancies, Group C has no vacancies, Group D has 4 vacancies, Group E has 3 vacancies and Group F has 1 vacancy.

Group D might be eliminated if there are fewer than three students by Friday night. I will be finalizing these groups on Friday night. After Friday night it will be too late to join a group.

• Have a look at the message about 3 weeks of free (!) group Ielts speaking classes that I will run from October 29 to November 17 at Free_group_classes.htm.

Although all the students who have enrolled in these free classes so far are Chinese, you don't need to be Chinese to take part in this because all the lessons will be conducted completely in English. All you need to do is download and install Wechat on your computer, mobile phone or ipad, which is free and easy to do. Then check the times of the classes in your time zone and see if a class is suitable for you. And finally, connect to my Wechat account at IELTS-Chris.

• The current Part 1 page has been updated with a note about the questions, "Why did you choose to study that?" and, "Why did you choose that type of work?"

• The following information applies to Mainland China. I believe it is mostly the same all over the world but there might be some differences in some countries.

• The Part 1 questions for September to December 2018 have been uploaded at Part_1_Questions_SEP_to_DEC_2018.htm. These questions will be modified over time after I have had a closer look at the available data.

• The pages for the Parts 2/3 questions have not been completed yet but this page, PARTS_2_and_3_INDEX_P16.htm shows a list of what I believe to be the current topics. Those topics that entered the test in May 2018 are complete but the topics that entered the test in September 2018 are still not completed yet.

Until I have completed these pages, you can see two sets of data from China, not written by me, that will give you quite a lot of information about the current Part 2 & 3 questions. You should understand that this data is written by Chinese people whose English is only at about Band 5.5 to 6.0 standard, and who are not really IELTS experts.

Furthermore, I believe there are sometimes errors in their predictions, such as confusing a Part 3 question for a Part 2 topic. Set A is from IELTSbro.com and is more accurate than Set B. Most Chinese IELTS students will already be familiar with both of these sets of data.

• After many months of little activity on this website, I have now returned to giving IELTS speaking and writing more attention.

• I have re-opened my Wechat (微信), Skype or Telegram speaking test tutoring service. See here for more information about this service.

• I am now able to accept payments for my Essay Service and the Speaking test tutoring service through Wechat. But since my Wechat wallet is not yet fully activated, I use a friend in China to accept Wechat payments for me.

• Soon (within a few weeks), I will return to posting the current Speaking test questions on this website, like I used to do before.

• I have also added a new feature to this website - "Ask Me a Question About English".

• The server for this website is undergoing maintenance, I believe for a few days. So you will not be reading this on November 8.

• This temporary closure of the website has prompted me to think about a clean up of my front page. As a result of that, I have decided to return to something like what the page looked like pre-2015. In those days there were only two links to Chinese music and no other links to audio-visual material. Now there is just a song by Teresa Teng and a video of Bruce Li playing ping pong using nunchukas. The rest of what was there before is unnecessary distraction from IELTS.

• The Part 1 topics and questions that were used in 2015 and up to August 2016 have now been added to this website. These can be found by first going to the 'Part 1 Start Page'.

• Other pages have been 'tidied up', hopefully making this website easier to navigate. However, now that this website no longer lists the current speaking test questions, there are still some pages on this website that might be confusing to you if those pages still refer to the questions in use now.

• Future work that still needs to be done includes, a) updating the "All Part 1 Questions" pages, b) uploading more examples of my essay assessments, c) adding some information to help students write IELTS essays and d) re-writing some pages on this website that refer to the current questions in the test (because these questions are no longer being shown on this website).
