I use Skype or Wechat for this. Both are free programs that you can download from the
internet. They allow people to chat with each other over the internet, either
with or without using a video camera.
Each tutoring session is one hour but I always go for a bit
more than 1 hour, while still calling it an hour.
For this service, if you just have 1 or 2 sessions,
I will first give you a mock IELTS Speaking test in each session, using some of the
real, current topics. But if you prefer, we'll just do one
mock test on the first day only – it's your choice. After each mock test I will give you a
score, including the 4 sub-scores for Pronunciation, Grammar, Vocabulary and
Fluency/Coherence. I will correct most of your errors and I will give you
some general advice.
Most of the time we will be going through some of the other topics
that are currently being used in the Speaking test, either Part 1 or
Part 2/3, but not under strict exam conditions. Again, I will give you
corrections and advice after your answers to the questions.
It is a very good idea for you to make an audio recording of
any tutoring session you have with me.
If you want to use the service for more than 2 or 3
sessions, we might add some extra activities to focus on and strengthen
your weak points, such as pronunciation or grammar.
If you have 9 lessons, you will get a tenth lesson for free.
This also applies for the next nine lessons you have, if you have that many,
and so on.
If you want to use the service for a long time (e.g. more than 10 sessions) in order to build up your spoken English more
generally, I suggest we use a textbook together because it takes a lot of time
for me to prepare lessons without a book or without using the current Speaking
test questions. Probably the most suitable book would
be the latest edition of Cambridge Grammar for IELTS, which is #23 on my
is more than just a grammar book.) Other possible books are Side by Side 3

The cost is (Australian) $35/hour, which is less 160 RMB/hour.
You will need to pay me in advance. In order of cheapness and ease of payment,
the three methods of sending money to me are – PayPal, Western Union, or a
Bank transfer to my Australian bank account.
Send me an email at gelin3 at yahoo.com to check if I am
available, and to get my Skype or Wechat name and my bank account details if you
need that information. I am flexible
about what time of day to do this but sometimes I am busy and cannot accept any
more students for a while.
