A similar situation to the "meal" topic situation (see below) might also exist for the "equipment" topic, but this is not certain. See the notes for Topic 420.

The Confusing "Meal" Topics
The test writers or the test managers are using different methods to try to confuse people like me who are attempting to keep track of the current Part 2 topics and questions. A good example of this is the Part 2 topic, "A Meal". I was confused about this topic because in 2012 and 2013 there were three (or possibly just two) different "Meal" topics but, after a closer look at my data, I now think I have sorted out this situation.
The first example of this topic, which is listed as Topic 388 on Page 78, I named as, "A Meal You Would Like to Eat". The second topic, Topic 450 on Page 90, I named as, "A Meal You Like to Eat". Many candidates, when reporting their test topic, called both of those, "Your Favourite Meal", thinking there was only one topic but I think they were two different topics. The Part 3 was different for these two.
Looking at my data, it seems that Topic 388 was used only for 4 months, between January 12, 2012 and May 19, 2012.
Then, in the testing period of May to August 2012, no "meal" topic was used at all.
On September 1, 2012, Topic 450 came into use. That topic was used until April 27, 2013, a period of 8 months.
On January 5, 2013, a third "meal" topic came into use, i.e., Topic 487, "A Special Meal". Many candidates reported this as, "A Meal You Were Invited to". This topic is still being used now, in August 2013.
The interesting thing is that in the period January to April 2013, two different "meal" topics were in use at the same time, i.e., Topics 450 and 487. This is unusual but I think it was part of the attempt to confuse people. It certainly confused me until I had a closer look at my data.
I did not have Topic 487 listed as a separate topic until I sorted out this complex situation on August 20. There still might be a few errors existing concerning these meal topics on this website but I think the information here about this topic is now much more accurate than it was before.
