Make sure you understand the difference between "common" and "popular". Some common things are also popular but other common things, such as air pollution, are not popular. It is not clear which word is used in these questions. Possible neither word is used.

This topic has been reported overseas but not (yet) in China. Some of the questions, such as "Please describe your country" are more suitable when testing candidates outside their own countries. In the questions below, the examiner will probably use the name of your country. This topic is probably used as a substitute for "Your Hometown" or "Your Home". That is, you might get one of those three topics, but probably not two of them.
