Although the climate of the USA does not represent the climate of the whole world, it does represent the climate of the North Atlantic ocean.
The relatively "inactive" decades of the 1960s to the early 90s are in sharp contrast to the very active hurricane seasons experienced from the late 1990s to the present. The world has not warmed, in fact has slightly cooled since 1998.
