2008 TOPIC USAGE.mdb.zip Contains an mdb file
All of the topics that have been so far reported in 2008 are shown in this table.
Inevitably, there are errors in this table. The idea is to get an approximate idea of the overall topic usage.
As with the 2006 & 2007 tables, a "First Date" column, a "Last Date" column and a "Time Used" column are shown.
Conclusions (Written Apr. 5, 2008)
It seems that the total topic pool has been increased to between 55 and 60 topics.
The test managers seem to be choosing 45 to 50 topics from the pool for use each test weekend.
The Following Conclusions are based on observing what people write on the internet after each test
It seems that any of the current Part 2/3 topics can be used at any test centre in China. Therefore, I think it is a waste of time on the weekend of your test to try to find out what topics are being used at your particular test centre.
It seems that the most frequently used 3, 4 or 5 topics that are used in any half day of testing are taken out of the test for that weekend after that half day and are replaced by another 4 or 5 topics that had not yet been used on that test weekend. So, if you find out that topic 'XYZ' was very frequently used at your test centre on Saturday afternoon, it probably won't be used on Sunday morning or Sunday afternoon. (I write "probably" because I haven't done a close enough study of this to say for certain.) Similarly, the most frequently used 3, 4 or 5 topics on Sunday morning will probably not be used on Sunday afternoon. I am not sure about any test that continues on Monday.
Surprisingly, it also seems that those topics that are taken out of the test after each half day of testing are taken out of the test at every test centre in China at the same time. (Again, this is not for sure because I haven't closely looked at this question.)
You should understand that the test managers might change the way they do things at any time.
