Notes

• Version B, A Different Job, is a variation of this topic for people who are working now. There have long been hints that such a version might exist.

• Almost every point in Version A is a guess except for the idea of 'good at'. Someone also wrote the description of the job as, "a job you like". But for both of those, I think the wording is, "would be good at" or, "would like". Possibly the words are, "... a job you would be happy doing".

• Basically, the topic looks to be similar to the idea of, "Describe your ideal job". (See also Topic #22) However, your "ideal job" or "dream job" does not always mean the same as a job you think you could (or would) do well.

• The main idea of this topic seems to be self-analysis, i.e., you have to analyze yourself and say what you think are your particular strengths, strengths that would be useful or even necessary in a certain career. These strengths include your personality and your skills and knowledge base. Another possible reason could be your family or social connections.

Although what you are interested in is also important, being interested in something is not good enough if it is the only reason why you say you think you could do a certain job well.

• Almost certainly there is an adjective in the first line such as, "an interesting article" or words such as, "an article that you remember well". But no-one has reported this information yet.

• "Recently" can be any time within the past year but within the past few months would be better. It doesn't have to be within the past week.

• Make sure you understand that this topic asks you to describe an article (文章), not describe a magazine or a newspaper, even though a brief, descriptive comment about the magazine or newspaper is suitable.

• For the line that says, "and explain what you thought of this article" you should make comments about the article, not simply comments about the topic of the article. For example, if the article was about the virtues of traveling, don't simply give your feelings and opinions about traveling in general but, instead, make some comments about what the article said.
